Dr. Nolan JenkinsDr. Jenkins grew up in Holt, Michigan, outside of Lansing, with his older sister and younger twin brothers. The son of an equipment buyer and a lab tech, he was exposed to the inner workings of a hospital throughout his childhood. From a young age he loved drawing and creating his own cartoon characters. When he wasn’t drawing, he enjoyed riding his bike, playing sports, and swimming at the lake. During high school and college, he had jobs including moving boxes in a warehouse, doing yard work, and working in a lab.

Dr. Jenkins attended the University of Tulsa, in Tulsa, OK, where he earned a BA in German language, and was a member of the Track and Field and Cross Country teams. He spent a semester abroad in Freiburg, Germany, at the edge of the Black Forest, where he honed his German language skills and developed a love for German food, especially the pretzels.

While attending dental school at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Jenkins became interested in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was a contributor and illustrator for the student humor paper, the Pulp Horn. He was active in student government and served as Student Body President during his senior year. Dr. Jenkins completed his Internship and Residency at the Carle Foundation Hospital, in Champaign-Urbana, IL, where he was exposed to the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including facial trauma, benign and malignant pathology, cleft lip and palate, and orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Jenkins and his wife, Christie, moved to Austin in the summer of 2018 with their German Shepherd, Delta. In his spare time, Dr. Jenkins enjoys running, drawing, exploring Austin, and walking Delta. He is excited to join Midtown Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and looks forward to beginning his new career in Austin.
